{"id":439,"date":"2016-01-21T02:49:28","date_gmt":"2016-01-21T02:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jayforschoolcommittee.com\/2025\/?p=439"},"modified":"2016-02-14T04:34:56","modified_gmt":"2016-02-14T04:34:56","slug":"jay-got-experience-behind-the-scenes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jayforschoolcommittee.com\/2025\/2016\/01\/21\/jay-got-experience-behind-the-scenes\/","title":{"rendered":"Jay got experience behind the scenes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #a10303;\">By Stann Chonofsky<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is not often that Lexington gets the chance to vote for a<br \/>\ncandidate who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes in the very area<br \/>\nwhere she is seeking election.\u00a0 Eileen Jay gives us all just such an<br \/>\nopportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Eileen has been actively involved in helping other parents, and in<br \/>\nhelping with school policy for at least the 8 years I have known her.<br \/>\nAs a member of site councils, both at Clarke and at LHS, and as an<br \/>\nactive participant at the weekly LHS parents&#8217; discussion group, Eileen<br \/>\nhas listened to problems, made suggestions when appropriate, and fed<br \/>\nback important ideas to administrators and School Committee members.<br \/>\nShe has always done so in a polite and unassuming manner,<!--more--><br \/>\nflying &#8220;under the radar screen&#8221; in order to make change and not simply<br \/>\nnoise.\u00a0 She has helped many many people by doing so.<\/p>\n<p>Last year she took a leading role in the writing of the report on<br \/>\nstudent stress presented to the School Committee.\u00a0 Her unique knowledge,<br \/>\nbased on years of listening, provided a depth and relevancy to the<br \/>\nreport that could not be questioned.\u00a0 She is now on the Lexington Community<br \/>\nCoalition &#8211; Youth Initiative steering committee, a town-wide initiative to<br \/>\nreduce stress, support mental health, and take action on drug\/alcohol<br \/>\nprevention in our youth.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with her academic credentials, which include a doctorate in education<br \/>\nfrom the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Lexington is<br \/>\nincredibly fortunate to have such a qualified, insightful, and hard working School<br \/>\nCommittee candidate who is already up to speed on many of the critical<br \/>\nissues facing the schools.\u00a0 I hope you will join me in voting for her.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"> Stann Chonofsky<\/span><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><br \/>\nDee Road<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Stann Chonofsky It is not often that Lexington gets the chance to vote for a candidate who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes in the very area where she is seeking election.\u00a0 Eileen Jay gives us all just such an opportunity.
